FLUIDAIR POWER Scunthorpe Scorpions are set to track their full 1-to-7 for the first time in over a month, when they tackle local rivals Sheffield Tigers in Premier League action at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

Dane Thomas Jorgensen, who would have missed last weekend’s rained off meetings at Scunthorpe and Workington due to a chest infection, should be fit to take his place, while recent appendicitis victim Josh Auty will ride for the Scorpions for the first time since Sheffield were last in town on July 9th.

With last night’s Sheffield vs Edinburgh match falling to the weather, tonight is the first chance for Sheffield fans to see new signing, Argentinean Nico Covatti, in action for the Tigers.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I think we’re in for a terrific match tonight. Sheffield No 1 Simon Stead flies around here, and the clashes between him and our lads will be worth the admission money alone.

“We’re hoping that the Tigers’ fans will make the short journey up to the Eddie Wright Raceway. It’s their first chance to see Nico Covatti riding for them.

“For the first team in a few weeks, the weather looks favourable for us, so it should be all systems go for a cracking local derby.”
