03. Dave Klindt back into the swing of it

FLUIDAIR POWER Scunthorpe Scorpions’ No 1 Nicolai Klindt has continued his sensational progress in the Speedway Grand Prix qualifiers, finishing a fine fifth in his semi-final in Czestochowa, Poland yesterday (Saturday) to qualify for the Grand Prix Challenge.

The 25-year-old Dane might have actually won the meeting. He scored 10 points from his opening four rides, only to finish last in Heat 19. Had he finished first or second in that race, Klindt would have ended up winning the meeting.

Klindt tweeted: “I’m so happy to qualify for the GP Challenge, but, at the same time, gutted to miss out on the podium. But as (fellow Dane) Mads Korneliussen says, we’re through!”

The Grand Prix Challenge takes place on September 20 in Lonigo, Italy with three places for the 2015 Grand Prix series up for grabs.
