Scorps 01. Team Finally

FLUIDAIR POWER Scunthorpe Scorpions travel to Somerset in Premier League action tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

It’s a battle between the last two sides to win the Premier League title. Somerset Rebels are the current champions, after beating Edinburgh in the final last October. And, of course, it was the Rebels who lost by a point to the Scorpions in the classic 2012 Premier League play-off final.

While Somerset’s 2014 away form has been variable, the Rebels have been in top form around the Oak Tree Arena – scoring 60+ in each of their last four home meetings.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We’ll go into this meeting with the same attitude as we always do, which is to take something out of the meeting.

“We’ve kept Somerset close in our last few visits around here, and we’ll be looking to do that again.”

It’s the first of two away meetings in three days for the Scorpions. They also travel to Glasgow on Sunday, in a meeting where Nicolai Klindt will move to the No 1 spot after the issue of the new averages.

Expected teams for tonight:

Somerset Rebels: 1. Nick Morris, 2. Charles Wright, 3. Brady Kurtz, 4. Pontus Aspgren, 5. Oliver Allen, 6. Todd Kurtz, 7. Paul Starke.

FluidAir Power Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Josh Auty, 2. Nicolai Klindt, 3. David Howe, 4. Ashley Birks, 5. Ryan Douglas, 6. Matt Williamson, 7. Thomas Jorgensen.

* Please note that the Scunthorpe Scorpions vs Workington Comets Premier League match, scheduled for Friday, June 13th, has been moved back to Sunday, August 31st. It will now form the first half of a double-header, also featuring Scunthorpe Stags vs Stoke Potters in National League action. The start-time is 3pm.

* The new date for Scunthorpe’s away Premier League meeting at Berwick – rained off on May 10th – is Saturday, September 6th.
