HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions are looking to complete their League Cup fixtures with a flourish this evening (Sunday) when they entertain the Peterborough Panthers at the Eddie Wright Raceway, with new signing Ashley Morris making his seasonal debut for the club.

The meeting will start at 6.30pm – the time that will become the regular start-time for the majority of Scorpions’ home fixtures for the rest of the season.

After a terrific away win at Ipswich in their opening meeting, Scorpions’ subsequent results have been less positive, but they put in a fighting performance before losing 41-49 at high-flying Sheffield on Thursday and that bodes well for this evening.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Every time that Peterborough come to the Eddie Wright Raceway, it seems to be a fantastic meeting. I’m sure everyone remembers last year’s clash, when we turned it around with three 5-1s in the final three races.

“It’s going to be a tough meeting, but Sheffield went to Peterborough on Friday and won there, so we know that the Panthers are beatable. We’ll be going all out to record our first home win of the season.”
