Josh Bailey Action

HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions’ young star Josh Bailey has comfortably qualified for the British Under-21 Final at Sheffield on Thursday, April 14, after finishing third in the semi-final at Kent last night (Monday).

The 18-year-old’s qualification never seemed to be in doubt from the moment he saw off the challenge of Liam Carr to win Heat 4, with Carr eventually falling.

Josh followed that up with five points in his next three rides, before a win in his final outing in Heat 17 left him in the top three.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “It’s been a mixed start to the season for the Scorpions, but one of the major plusses for us has been Josh Bailey. He’s got a very tidy style, is willing to learn, and doesn’t know when he’s beaten.

“I’m delighted that Josh has got through to the Under-21 Final at Sheffield. He’ll be going there with the Scorpions this Thursday, and then he’ll be there again the following week for the final, which gives him every chance of doing well in that meeting.”
