HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions are looking to bounce back from their home defeat to Sheffield on Easter Sunday, with a positive result at Peterborough tonight (Friday, 7.30pm).

With Nicolai Klindt riding for Elite League Leicester, Scunthorpe bring in ex-Scorpion and Peterborough track specialist Richard Hall as a guest.

In a topsy-turvy League Cup Midland Section, there have been two draws, two away wins, and so far, not a single home victory.

Team manager Dave Peet said: “Our League Cup group has already been full of twists and turns, and has demonstrated that anything can happen across a 15-race speedway meeting.

“We’ll head down to Peterborough with an open mind, go into the meeting with a positive approach, and see what that brings. We have a few more meetings under our belts than the Panthers.

“We’re moving Ryan (Douglas) to No 3 and Alex (Davies) to No 5 for this meeting and we’ll see how it goes. I feel it may give us a better balance away from home.

“What people tend to forget is that Ryan missed nearly the whole of last season through injury and is getting himself back up to speed. He’s done really well in the last couple of the home meetings, but moving him to No 3 will hopefully give him a boost for the away meetings.”

Teams for tonight:

Peterborough Panthers: 1. Ulrich Ostergaard, 2. Simon Lambert, 3. Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen, 4. Michael Palm Toft, 5. Nickolas Porsing, 6. Emil Grondal, 7. Tom Perry.

Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Josh Auty, 2. Richard Hall (guest), 3. Ryan Douglas, 4. Zdenek Holub, 5. Alex Davies, 6. Carl Wilkinson, 7. Josh Bailey.

* The Scorpions are next back in action at the Eddie Wright Raceway a week on Sunday (April 10), when Peterborough are the visitors. The start-time will switch to 6.30pm for Sunday meetings, from this meeting onwards. Meanwhile, Scunthorpe’s Premier League visit to Berwick on April 30 has been put back, to a date still to be confirmed.
