Scunny-born Woffinden is double champ
GREAT Britain’s Tai Woffinden is the 2015 World Speedway Champion following Saturday’s Grand Prix in Poland.
The Scunthorpe-born 25-year-old was confirmed as Champion after scoring 8-points in the Torun meeting – leaving him with an unassailable 25-point lead over out-going Champion Greg Hancock with one round to go.
And with only a maximum of 21 points available in Melbourne in three weeks time Woffinden is left celebrating his second individual World Championship victory of his career.
Dane Nicki Pedersen was victorious in the final, but it will be Woffinden who’ll make all the headlines.
