LEWIS BLACKBIRD, who rode for the Scunthorpe Scorpions in 2013, suffered serious leg injuries at Denmark on Wednesday night.

Blackbird has sustained a spiral fracture of the fibula and a broken ankle, and is likely to be ruled out for the rest of the season.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We wish Lewis a full, prompt and problem free recovery from his injuries.”

Blackbird’s withdrawal has led to Peterborough reshuffling their guests for tonight’s meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

The new teams are:

FluidAir Power Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Hugh Skidmore (guest for Nicolai Klindt), 2. Thomas Jørgensen, 3. Ashley Birks, 4. Josh Auty (pictured), 5. Ryan Douglas, 6. Matt Williamson, 7. Taylor Poole (guest for David Howe).
