Scorpions and Amateur meetings Off

Sadly tonight’s meeting and tomorrow’s amateur meeting have had to be postponed. The Premier League meeting against the Berwick Bandits unfortunately had to be cancelled after heavy rain that started around 6.20pm. Sadly the club webmaster, Rob Peasley, was travelling up from Oxford whilst I was already at the track so the website couldn’t be updated very quickly.

In future, whilst we will try and update the website quicker, the best option for everyone interested in knowing if a meeting is on is to check the BSPA website. The BSPA have someone manning their press office every race night and are very rapid at updating their website. Sorry to anyone who travelled to the stadium but the rain was much heavier than anyone expected. Whilst the rain did clear up after half an hour or so it did return at 8.20pm proving the decision was ultimately a good one.

With regards to the amateur meeting the weather forecasts aren’t very encouraging and with riders due to travel from all over the country it is felt the risk too high. Perhaps we will have a better day than forecast but it is better to have a nice day and no racing than everyone turn up to pouring rain and the club’s reputation.
