Auty blow for Scorpions
FLUIDAIR POWER Scunthorpe Scorpions will be without one of their leading lights for a spell, after Josh Auty was admitted into hospital with appendicitis.
Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Josh is having the operation to remove his appendix.
“We wish Josh well, and hope he has a speedy recovery.
“Until he is fit to return, we will use rider replacement in his absence.”
After a slow start to the season by his own high standards, 23-year-old Auty, No 1 at Scunthorpe in both 2012 and 2013, had shown much improved form in recent weeks.
He is currently third in the Scorpions’ averages. For Friday’s home meeting with the Rye House Rockets at the Eddie Wright Raceway (7.30pm), all the Scunthorpe team apart from Nicolai Klindt will be able to take a rider replacement ride for Auty.
